16.12.15: Is Multiplayer Worth All The Grief?

Forza 6 Activity Menu

I'm not a big multiplayer fan. I rationalize my attitude by saying that I'm not a particularly social person. I don't have a great need to race against other live players and I've found that the single player career mode gives me enough racing to satisfy my needs.

Nevertheless, I am curious to find out what it's like if only to confirm for myself how bad it is. I've read the worst reports on the forums such as this example where the player complains that a culture of crashing makes the game completely unplayable.

I did give multiplayer a try on Horizon 2 and I quite enjoyed the experience, but the network lag was so bad that I couldn't take the mode very seriously. Everytime someone tried to pass me I would get bumped off the track, I'd be out of the race and in last position. I doubt that all the crashers in FM6 make the multiplayer experience any better.

Maybe I'm wrong. Feel free to comment below if you want to add your particular answer to this question.

02.12.15: Ah ha! So They Do Listen To Us

Forza Forums Front Page

If you've been following the FM6 forum lately then you'll remember quite a long thread about not being able to specify Drivatar Divisions in Free Play resulting in the often comical pairing of cars from different divisions. I posted on this site a few weeks ago about how ridiculous it was to select a 1939 Maserati 8CTF but then have to race against B Class cars from any era in Motorsport history.

Well, it appears that the developers have been listening to our complaints because the December content update seems to have corrected this behaviour. It is now possible to restrict Drivatars to a division matching the player's car which makes a lot of sense and answers some of the most bitter complaints posted on the forums.

I don't particularly like a lot of the bickering I see on the forums but it seems that in this case it has had a beneficial result. I just wish that a lot of you guys could tone it down a bit and give more consideration to what you're saying before you post it.
